A Bethany House Book Review - - In Every Heartbeat by Kim Vogel Sawyer

I fell in love with Maelle, Matt, Isabelle (Molly), and Petey in My Heart Remembers; and hated to leave them once the book ended. So I was very excited when I found out that Kim had written another book continuing  their story. In Kim Vogel Sawyer's newest book In Every Heartbeat I was reacquainted with old friends and met new ones - - Libby, and Bennett.

Pete Leidig, Libby Conley, and Bennett Martin head off to college in the fall of 1914. Libby wanting to study journalism, Pete following his call into ministry and Bennett, wanting to belong somewhere, is looking to join a fraternity and to have fun. Each either relying on God to direct their steps, or trying to make God into who they think He should be. Will they follow God's call or their own desires?

I have read many of Kim's books and I have never been disappointed. Her characters come to life as you turn the pages of her books. I love to watch her characters learn and grow as you and I might if we were faced with the same situations. Pete, Libby, and Bennett, face circumstances that force them either to run to and trust God, or to run from God and trust themselves. Which direction will they turn? You'll have to read the book to find out, and you might even make some new friends along the way.

I  enjoyed  In Every Heartbeat and look forward to meeting Libby, Pete, Bennett, Maelle, Jackson, Isabelle, Matt, and everyone else again, but even if Kim never revisits them I am still glad to have met them.

  1. Hi Tammi, I've been trying to contact you but have no email address to do so. You were a winner for last week's book drawing on my Country at Heart blog. Please email me at deborahvogts(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks!
