Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball: A Novella by Donita K. Paul is the first book I have read by this author. I found it to be a sweet little story about a budding romance between co-workers Cora Crowder, and Simon Derrick. Each of them have received a ticket to a Christmas Ball, hosted by the matchmaking booksellers of "Warner, Werner, and Wizbotterdad" on the mysterious Sage Street.
Cora and Simon are both Christians, but have come from two different back grounds. Simon grew-up in a loving Christian family, while Cora grew-up in a judgmental, conditional-love family. Now they work in the same office and Simon is Cora's boss. Not wanting to be the subject of the office rumor-mill, Cora is adamant that she will not enter into any type of office relationship, not even friendship, but through various circumstances they begin to have growing friendship that begins to bloom into love. Will Cora go to the ball? You'll want to read this book for yourself to find out.
This book is a fantasy, along the line of Cinderella. At first I wasn't sure if it was going to hamper the Gospel message in the book, but I think the author did a wonderful job at placing the Gospel above all else. I highly recommend this book. It is a book you can feel safe allowing your tweens and teens to read, too.

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you liked the story. You must be very busy with five young children. I homeschooled some, did a little public school, and some private school for my two. They are grown now and did well in college. Bless you for all the work you are putting into your kids. It is well worth it.
