I Didn’t Want to Put it Down!
When Amy Lang receives this e-mail:
You might want to take a trip to Hope Beach. There is more to Ben's death than you realize. Your brother had secrets - secrets that led to his death. Hypocrisy is one of the worst sins a man can commit. I hate to say it, but he deserved what happened to him.
From A Friend"
She decides to investigate, but she is faced with her parent’s unwillingness to support her decision to look into her brother’s death; with her decision made she moves into the family’s cottage on Hope Beach and tries to get the local sheriff to re-open the case. When the sheriff is unwilling to reopen the case without sufficient evidence she sets out to investigate on her own. She also plans to move her midwife practice to Rosemary Cottage, where she hopes that in time she can finally put the pieces of her brother's death to rest once and for all.
Curtis Ireland has something in common with Amy Lang. Not only does he find himself attracted to her, but his sister was tragically killed just two short weeks before Amy's brother. Neither the person who piloted the boat or the boat involved in the “accident” has been found. Now only the memories of his sister and her surviving baby daughter, Raine, are left. With Gina’s will decreeing that Curtis rear Rainy, he becomes her legal guardian. He just can't come to terms with the secret he's hiding from Amy and needs to find a way to tell her before she uncovers it on her own while investigating Ben’s death.
Rosemary Cottage is the latest book in the Hope Beach Novel series by Colleen Coble. Rosemary Cottage takes us back to the Outer Banks and reintroduces the reader to the residents we met while reading Tidewater Inn. The reader is drawn into a mystery/suspense where some people are willing to go to extreme measures to keep their secrets from being discovered without a second thought to the consequences. Talking about consequences…as Amy and Curtis’s relationship deepens there are things about themselves that they hold back, things that that could very well put a permanent wedge between them. Will they reveal the truth, or will they just walk away from each other?
About the Book:
Amy came to Rosemary Cottage to grieve, to heal, maybe even find love. But there’s a deadly undertow of secrets around Hope Island….
The charming Rosemary Cottage on the beach offers Amy Lange respite she needs to mourn her brother, Ben. She’s even thinking of moving her midwife practice to the Outer Banks community. It’s always been a refuge for her and her family. She also wants to investigate Ben’s disappearance at sea. Everyone blames a surfing accident, but Amy has reason to wonder.
Coast Guard officer Curtis Ireland has lost a sibling too. His sister, Gina, was run down by a boat, leaving him to raise her infant daughter. If anyone knew who little Raine’s father was, Curtis could lose his beloved niece. Yet he can’t help being drawn to Hope Beach’s new midwife, Amy. He even agrees to help her investigate what happened to both Ben and Gina.
Can two grieving people with secrets find healing on beautiful Hope Island? Or will their quest for truth set them at odds with each other…and with those who will go to any length to keep hidden things hidden?
