Dani Pettery has become one of my favorite authors, one whose books are read and shared.
Stranded is the third book in the Alaskan Courage series, Submerged and Shattered are the first two books. As I have read this series I have been drawn into the lives of the McKenna family (Cole, Piper, Gage, Kayden, and Reef) who own and operate Last Frontier Adventures in Yancey, Alaska, and have enjoyed watching them grow in their love for each other and their GOD.
Darcy St. James had once loved being an investigative reporter enjoying the "thrill of the chase". But three years ago she decided that she couldn't continue to compromise her beliefs for a story. That is, until her friend Abby Walsh called and pleaded with her to help her with an investigation. To that end Darcy applied for, and was hired, aboard the cruise ship Bering as their adventure journalist; and when Abby disappears Darcy is determined to find her.
The McKenna's and their business the Last Frontier Adventures have been contracted by the cruise line to provide excursions for their luxury crowd when the ship stops at their ports of call. Gage McKenna is the excursion teams leader.
Together Gage and Darcy work to find out what has happened to Abby and uncovers an evil plot taking place off the Alaskan coast. So that I won't spoil the story for you I'll stop right here. You'll have to read the book to find out how Dani Pettrey expertly brings Stranded to its exciting conclusion.
Once again Dani Pettrey has created a story that came alive in the "theatre of my mind". I have come to love Yancy, Alaska and the McKenna family and look forward to the next book in this series where I think Kayden and Jake's story will take center stage.
About the Book:
When Her Friend Goes Missing,
Every Minute Counts
Darcy St. James returns to Alaska to join a journalist friend undercover on the trail of a big story. But when Darcy arrives, she finds her friend has disappeared. Troubled by the cruise ship's vague explanation, Darcy uses her cover as a travel reporter to investigate further.
The last person Gage McKenna expects to see during his summer aboard a cruise ship leading adventure excursions is Darcy. And in typical Darcy fashion, she's digging up more trouble.
He'd love to just forget her--but something won't let him. And he can't help but worry about her as they are heading into more remote regions of Alaska and eventually into foreign waters. Something sinister is going on, and the deeper they push, the more Gage fears they've only discovered the tip of the iceberg.
Dani Pettrey is a wife, homeschooling mom, and author. She feels blessed to write inspirational romantic suspense because it incorporates so many things she loves--the thrill of adventure, nail biting suspense, the deepening of her characters' faith, and plenty of romance. She and her husband reside in Maryland with their two teenage daughters.
