A Wonderful Conclusion to the Series

Glittering Promises is the third and final installment of the The Grand Tour Series by Lisa T. Bergren. This is one series where you'll want to read the books in order or you may feel quite lost.

Cora Diehl Kensington, is on The European Grand Tour, which is the trip of a lifetime. Not only is she touring places that she never dreamed of seeing; she is bonding with a father, a brother and sisters she never knew she had. She is also falling in love with their Bear, William McCabe.

Life isn't as easy as you might think for the daughter of Wallace Kensington (Montana's Copper King). She has won her battle to have controlling interest of the Diehl Kensington Mine, and now is learning to manage the new gift's God has given her. Another challenge that both Cora and her siblings face is the constant press hounding for the latest story of America's newest heiress. Will is questioning how a relationship with Cora will work. Yes, he loves her, but how would he provide for someone, who doesn't need provision? There is also the issue of the safety of their group. Twice Cora and the other members of their group have been the victims of attempted kidnapping. Will they be able to complete their tour without another incident? You'll have to read Glittering Promises to find out.

Grave Consequences (the Grand Tour series #2) by Lisa T. Bergren~~A Litfuse Publicity Group Book Review, Blog Tour and Giveaway

 My Review:

Lisa continues the story that began in Glamorous Illusions, literally picking up where she left off. I would definitely recommend reading the first book in the series before reading this one.

Danger continues to follow the Kensington's and the Morgan's as they continue their Grand Tour through France, Austria, and Italy; despite the risk of a kidnapping by the shadowy men who continue to follow them.

Cora, still struggling with the issue of which man, William or Pierre, to give her heart; also has to decide if she is going to follow her heart or her father's wishes. The consequences of her decision will be far reaching.

There were captivating moments like the various dances they attended wearing stunningly beautiful clothes. I think I gained ten pounds just from the thought of eating such delectable food, then there was the cliff jumping and even a nerve-wracking glacier climb (my heart was in my throat during both of these scenes). These moments, the danger and adventure, kept the story flowing even through the final pages.

Also, I loved that Cora and William took their joys and fears to God, praying over decisions that needed to be made, for protection, for each of the other Kensington and Morgan children, as well as, for the people hired to guard and protect them. 

I have never physically been to Europe, but as I continue to read The Grand Tour series, I am traveling with the characters to places I can only dream and read about. I love  how the descriptions make me feel that I am there right beside the characters, seeing and experiencing the same things they are.

Now I only have one problem... I have to wait until October 2013 to read Glittering Promises (book 3 in the Grand Tour series).

My Review:
What would it be like to be raised on a Montana farm, a farm that barely eek’s out a living, struggling to pay the essential bills and put food you didn’t raise on the table. Cora Diehl and her parents know all too well what it is like. With a drought, and her fathers ill health, Cora is wondering how she will continue her schooling at Normal School (teacher’s college).
Now imagine that a man, Wallace Kensington, a Montana Copper King, comes to your door. He tells you that he is your biological father, and tells you that you have siblings. He also offers to pay for your father’s medical expenses, take care of the farm’s debts, pay for your schooling, and send you on an European tour. What would you do? This was Cora’s dilemma.
Cora decides, with the encouragement of her mother, to go with Mr. Kensington, which opens up a new world for her. Suddenly money isn’t an issue, but, not being raised in it, it is like entering a whole new world. A world of butlers, personal maids, formal dining and fancy clothes.
I enjoyed the story, meeting Cora, Mr. Kensington and his children, the Morgans and Will. The journey across the Atlantic on the Olympic, the Titanic’s sister ship, was almost uneventful. England and France, the places I only get to visit in books, was romantic, heartbreaking, exciting, as well as, suspenseful.
I am looking forward to the next books in the series,and I hope that these same characters will be featured as the story continues.
I give Glamorous Illusions (book one in the Grand Tour Series) by Lisa Tawn Bergren 5 out of 5 stars.

 My Review: 

God Gave Us the World Written by Lisa T. Bergren and Illustrated by Laura J. Bryant is a sweet little book that teaches children that God created the world, and all the different people in it, using a bear family's trip to a museum to start a conversation between Momma bear and Little Cub. The illustrations are adorable, and perfectly describes the authors words.

I read this book to my two daughters (ages 4 & 7) and they absolutely loved the story. We will be trying to collect the rest of this series for my daughters to share.
