My Review:
Undeniably Yours is Becky’s second novel and the first book in her first series ….The Porter Family.
After Meg Cole's father died, Meg is left in control of Cole Oil. Even though Meg is wealthy beyond my imagination, she is desperately unhappy and suffers frequent panic attacks. During her first days in her new job, Meg had the unpleasant task of closing some of the businesses her father had and firing those employees’s. She decided to close the horse farm her father started, but she didn’t expect that the ranch manager, Bo Porter, would fight for his and the other worker’s jobs. Bo convinces her to give the ranch 6 months to break even before closing. Meg reluctantly agrees.
Meg, having to endure a divorce due to abandonment, is broken, and unsure of many things, but is trusting God to walk beside her each and every day. Cole Oil is one area where she finds she need God’s guidance and direction, because she doesn’t feel qualified to fill her father’s shoes; and if the truth be told, she doesn’t want to work there, but she doesn't know what to do about it. So she does the only thing she knows to do… trust God.
As Meg begins to get to know and like Bo Porter she wants to trust him, but doesn’t know if she truly can, because she can’t be sure if he likes her for her, or for her money.
Undeniable Yours was a reverse Cinderella story and one that I enjoyed very much. Meg is beautiful and rich, with family protecting her from gold diggers. Bo is a ranch manager, and has a heart as big a Texas. I found myself liking them both a lot. I wanted the best for Meg, for her to overcome her fears, and for her to discover God’s will for her life. Bo was the best hero that I’ve met in a book for awhile; a hero who puts his trust in God, even when circumstances seem to be against him.
About the Book:
When Meg Cole’s father dies unexpectedly, she’s forced to return home to Texas and to Whispering Creek Ranch to take up the reins of his empire. The last thing she has the patience or the sanity to deal with? Her father’s Thoroughbred racehorse farm. She gives its manager, Bo Porter, six months to close the place down.
Bo knows he ought to resent the woman who’s determined to take from him the only job he ever wanted. But instead of anger, Meg evokes within him a profound desire to protect. The more time he spends with her, the more he longs to overcome every obstacle that separates them and earn her love.
Just when Meg realizes she can no longer deny the depth of her feelings for Bo, their fragile bond is broken by a force from Meg’s past. Can their relationship–and their belief that God can work through every circumstance–survive?
