  A Beautiful Story of Grace, Hope, and Love

A Miracle of Grace by Ruth Reid is the first installment of An Amish Wonders series. This was the first book by Ruth Reid that I have read. I loved how her writing drew me into the story before I had finished the first chapter.

Lindie Wyse is a young Amish woman who was assaulted, but decided to conceal that information from her Amish community. When her brother, Eli, discovered that she was expecting he wanted to protect her. He did this by arranging a marriage between Lindie and his friend Josiah Plank, who is a widower with a daughter who is deaf. At first it was hard for Lindie to adjust to her new situation. She struggles with her new role as mother to 8 year old Hannah, which would be be hard enough; but because Hannah is deaf she also needed to learn to communicate by using sign language.

As this new family goes about their daily tasks Josiah and Lindie begin to be friends. Then over the course of time, despite the fact that Lindie and Josiah choose a marriage of convenience only, they  eventually begin to realize that they have deeper feelings for each other.

I have to agree with Beth Wiseman's endorsement on the front book cover "...a beautiful tale of romance, redemption, and faith." I think that it is this best way to sum up Lindie's and Josiah's story. I hope you'll add A Miracle of Grace by Ruth Reid to your reading list, because this just might be the best Amish  story you'll read this year
